Cheeros, A Mockingbird, and a Daddy!

Last night I went to Wal-mart and while I was there stopped by the Redbox and picked up a movie. I got City of Ember. I didn't know anything about it but it looked like it could be a good movie or a cheap one. After watching it it turned out to be a really good movie. One I could have, it was so good. I had not heard anything about it on TV or seen any previews but I am told it is from a book. Talking about movies and books. I am reading the InkHeart book before the movies comes out here in the next few weeks I think or maybe it's months, Or maybe it came out?!? Oh well I got up this morning (not wanting to get up as I was so sleepy from our late night) and Had the Song "Hush Little Baby" song in my head. So I started to sing it to Emily this morning and found out that I don't know all the words soe I looked it up and a found the following:

"Hush, little baby, don't say a word,
Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird.

And if that mockingbird don't sing,
Papa's gonna buy you a diamond ring.

And if that diamond ring turn brass,
Papa's gonna buy you a looking glass.

And if that looking glass gets broke,
Papa's gonna buy you a billy goat.

And if that billy goat don't pull,
Papa's gonna buy you a cart and bull.

And if that cart and bull turn over,
Papa's gonna buy you a dog named Rover.

And if that dog named Rover won't bark.
Papa's gonna to buy you and horse and cart.

And if that horse and cart fall down, Well you'll still be the sweetest little baby in town."

Looking on the words I really don't remember about the diamond turning brass I was thinking it was "if that diamond don't shine" but maybe I am wrong. I couldn't find it anywere. I found these words at a childrens song site. So Maybe they are right. (I just made that rhyme. LOL ) Anyway, Emily enjoyed it and even would try to sing it with me. :) Well I am off to clean her up now that she is done eating her cheeros.

~Emily-n-Two~

Today's Verse

"Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away."

Psalm 1:4 (NIV)

Those who follow the LORD are firmly planted, healthy, and full of life. This verse hits right on where we are in church this month which entitles "Deeply Rooted". Last week it was "Deeply Rooted in Prayer" and this past week was "Deeply Rooted in Giving". Well today I am a little stressed due to bills and not having the money to pay them. But hey it seems like the rest of the world is in having the same issues so I will spare the details. In other news, Emily is really enjoying having her great-grandparents here for the week. And I always enjoy having a break myself. If I could only get them to change her then I would be in great shape. Maybe that is dreaming a little too much. Both Debbie and I got to take some time in cleaning our room last night. Due to the TV being used in the next room and our show that we watch each week (Biggest Loser) and the sun room being colder then ice we move our little TV in our room so we could watch our show. (Note: This is something that both Debbie and I said we would never do. Having a TV in our bedroom! But it was nice to have a little bit of something different. I think we might like watching one show a week in there. I don't think it will be come a highlight but might be nice every full moon or so. (or is that every Blue moon?!?!) I must go as Emily is done with her lunch and is ready for her nap. But I have posted a picture of her and her 3 new friends. Enjoy :) I think it is a cute picture.

The House of the Sick!

Okay I am sick today BLAHHH :( I think Emily gave it to Debbie and then Debbie gave it to me. I really hate that we missed church today and I wanted to go to small group. :( I guess I will have to listen to the online sermon from this morning. Oh well. I am still not feeling well so I will keep todays post short.

Today's Verse

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

Magic Sushi

I got a Magic Sushi maker for Christmas this year and I just love it! It took me a few times to get it right but I think I got the hang of it. Here is a picture of what I came up with. It makes rolls very well. I am a little blah about using sushi makers in the past as they just don't come out right, but this one works great. I think it is the best one for any beginner or even pro out there. I have been making sushi for a while now and feel I am good at it but I still enjoy this Magic Sushi maker over using my hands as I find that it cuts my time in haft. It even comes with a nice colorful sushi recipe book. Thanks Sis so much for this nice gift.

~Restaurant Review~

Mai Thai Restaurant
4272 Washington Rd
Evans, GA 30809

Mai Thai hands downs is one of the best Thai restaurants in the Augusta area. Even "Augusta" magazine gave it one of the best of 2008. Mai Thai is in the Publix shopping center. Once you enter you get the smell of the spices that fill the air from each dish. The decor is one one of it's own. Filled with nice paintings and art. It is simple but elegant. You can order all dishes with any level spice as hot as you want or mild as it comes. Mai Thai is a great place to take a date or have a meeting for work. Plan on spending about $30.0o for Dinner for 2. I have been to Mai Thai a few times and plan to go back again. It is however a little small for me. There was not much of a wait as tables where open. The floor plan is a little too simple with everything open but it's vary clean and neat. One item I did dislike was that fact that they only had one wait staff for all 14 tables. She seemed to do well with all the orders and refills but more then one wait staff would be a plus as it would speed things up. The restroom was clean and had nice decor as well as nice lighting.

~Song Highlight~

Okay I have two song highlights today. The 1st one is going on our same theme this week on God's beauty, what a powerful song about God's beauty. I found God's beauty today in the snow that came this afternoon.
Verse:
I need You like the rain
Come to me and sing again
I long for Your love so much
I’ve wanted Your pure touch

Chorus:
You are beautiful, beautiful
You’re beautiful, beautiful
So beautiful, so beautiful

Verse:
I need You to be here
Come to me, I can feel You near
I love You, You are my hope
You love me as Your own

Chorus:
You are beautiful, beautiful
You’re beautiful, beautiful
So beautiful, so beautiful

The next song is a song that I was reminded of today in an email. It was about a Zoo in CA. That had a tiger who had baby cubs who die a few hours after birth. After weeks of depression and being sadden by the death of her cubs. The zoo went out in search of some cubs for her
to mother. After not finding any tiger cubs anywhere in the USA. They went out and got a few baby pigs and put baby tiger skins on the pigs so they would look like little cubs. The mother Tiger took them as her own as they were. It reminded me of how we have a loving Father who does not care about our color, size, smell or even looks.

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Whether you're rich or whether you're poor
It matters not to Him
He remembers where you're going
Not where you've been

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

If your heart is troubled
Don't worry, don't you fret
He knows that you have heard His call
And he won't forget

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

All around the world tonight
His children rest assured
That He will watch and He will keep us
Safe and secure

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Coffee before 8 o'clock

Okay so with a little less then five hours of sleep. I am up with Emily while Debbie is in bed sick. I am not sure what is wrong but Emily is up happy and talking. I have had my coffee and here is anther day. I don't think we are going to make it to church today but all is well. I am listening to a John Wimber sermon I picked up at church a few weeks ago. He is the founder of the Vineyard church. He is really good. I have enjoyed listening to his sermon on "I'm a fool for Christ, whose fool are you." It is raining out today and a great day for one to sleep all day. I think I will take a nice long nap when Emily goes down after lunch. I got a lot this morning and it is all before 10. I got the dishes done and the kitchen clean and Emily fed. I think I might even get a bike ride in. I am even getting the time to set her and do a few bills and even blog. Wow The Coffee is good or things can happen in the morning. :) Who knows maybe I can become a morning person..... I am Joking!
Today's Verse
"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings,
because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
perseverance, character; and character, hope."

- Romans 5:3-4 (NIV)

You know after reading that I feel as if my suffering today was getting up before 8 and only having 5 hours a sleep. But you know I am up now and feel good. I guess this verse is true. :) Cool stuff! I guess I need to rejoice more in my sufferings.

~Fireproof Homework~

7 "In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered. 8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. 9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it."

-1 Peter 3:7-9 (NLT)

Friday?

Okey I think I missed a day. I am not sure how. Maybe I slept trough it or something. I was told this morning it was Friday. What happen to Thursday? Emily however is not missing any days, at times I wonder if her days are longer then ours. She is growing faster in one day then I feel we grow. She has start this talking thing. At times it is cute and other times I am not so sure. I wonder what she is saying at times. Last night we went to return something at Babies-R-Us and got Emily a small stroller. It is light and small, great for fast trips to the store and the the park. We even used it when we went to the store last night. We also went out to eat to Ruby Tuesday's, I will have my review on it in two weeks or so. I have started on each Wednesday having a restaurant review from place I have gone too. I also write a review for Dine.com. Oh Well time for Emily's nap!

~Restaurant Review~

Walker's Seafood Restaurant
106 E 6th St
Waynesboro, GA 30830

Walker's Seafood is a family owned restaurant that was started out of a pick up truck on the side of the road a few miles from where they are today selling fresh local fish. If your a seafood lover then this could be the place for you. The fish is all local and most of the food is homemade. The price is not bad for lunch, for the two of us it was around $20.00. The catfish to me was the best you can get without driving to a local restaurant at the beach. The cold slaw however was not the best in the world. The decor however was family friendly more on the elementary side of things. There are paper fish cut outs on the walls and a billboard with fish decor on it. There is nothing wrong with the family decor if you like that laid back style of a restaurant. Walker's Seafood has been open going on a year here in the next month or so. The owner is very friendly and open to comments and suggestions. The biggest downside to Walker's is there open times. It took us a few weeks before we found it open for us to try it out. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays and there time during the week is 11am to 8pm but not open for lunch on Saturdays only dinner. Even with their times posted I have seen them closed more then open. I think Sundays would be a prime time for them to be open in the market area they currently in. I would eat there again if I am ever in the mood for catfish.

Monday Morning Coffee!

I am now rested and ready for a new week. I woke up to a clean house for the most part (Thanks Debbie for cleaning) and to the UPS Truck driving down to driveway. (Thanks so much Sis for my Sushi Magic kit) I am even going to use it today. less then a hour later the mail came and I got my new razer. Yay! It's nice out side and the birds are out singing. I do however have a little headache. I am learning that is just something I have to live with until my eye is fully healed. Bella is coming today to help watch Emily and visit for a few days. I know I so need the help. Debbie is off to work and I am off to clean Emily's room after I have been living out of it for the past few weeks with my eye. (It is the darkest room in the house) I have moved back in to our room now and I don't have that big of issue with lights now. I know Debbie is glad I am back.

Sunday Worship!

Today was a okay day. We went to church this morning and all went well. The worship team was back after taking some time off for Christmas. They where good. Chad the lead worshiper was good. The Sermon series we started for the next few weeks are "Deeply Rooted". I look forward to what is to come. Debbie and I also started our small group bible study tonight at the church. We are doing to "Fireproof your Marriage" study. Tonight was only the first night of it and I can see it as a good study for both Debbie and I. I know it will be a study that will both be challenging and hard for us but will be good for us to grow in and with. I also picked up a new worship CD from the worship team today at the church. There are great songs like: Bless His Name, Sweetly broken, Better than life, Let us be, Invitacion Fountain and many other top Vineyard songs. Speaking of Vineyard songs and the church we also got a CD of the founder of the Vineyard movement, John Wimber. I can't wait to listen to it this week when I get some time. For more info about The Vineyard Church check out www.vineyardusa.org In other news Emily had a great day enjoying being held by all her teachers and my eye is getting a little better even though that today it hurt a little and I had a bad headache.

Just Kicking!

Anther day ad Emily is still growing. It is Friday and the house is clean. am not sure why it has taken me a week to get it clean. I guess with my eye things take longer. My eye has gotten batter. I am able to see out of both eyes now and I am slowing learning to deal with the tears all the time. But the Doctor said that that would happen more as he put two holes in my tear duct. I have have enjoyed my bike and trainer but the past day or so with cleaning I have had no time to ride. I hope I can today. As my goal is to ride 3 times a weeks. I am at 2 times so far. The biggest thing about my bike is I need a new pace to keep it. I think the den is not working our as it is in the middle of the room (On a side note I am not sure why my keyboard is skipping letters today) :( Anyway, I hope to find a new place for my bike. I am only ahhh about doing it because I don't want it in a room I never go in. I am scared I might stop riding. :( I guess I just need to try hard to keep my goals. Oh well I must run, Emily is fussy!

Windy Days!

Can we say WINDY. Waking us up this morning the wind was so loud. It still is windy out but no rain or storms at this this point anyway. Emily is up and happy as she can be today. I have let her play a little in her high chair after lunch. I think she likes sitting up high so she can see everything. I think she has trowen everything on the floor and she seeems to enjoy hearing the wind. It sounds like she is trying to sing or talk with the wind. I have been enjoyig my bike trainer I again today got to spend a little time on it. Not as long today due to I am cooking tonight. hummm... I am not sure what I am going to make. I think my butter chicken with a spankapita syle "thing". Who knows I will have to think about it. Oh well I am sure I well think of something. Okay onver the Christmas holiday my grandfather ordered more channels on the TV and I have been stuck on Food and Bravo. They have a show "Top Chef" and I can't stop watching it. I was hoping it was only going to be a one hour thing but as I can now see it will be an all day showwing. Blah!! I mustn't!!!!

Bind for now!

As you may not know I have been blind for the last few days. Here is a link to get you some what up-to-date. (Recap) Okay so were we stand today we went back for a post-op visit with the Doctor and everything seems to be healing well. I have been taken off a few of the Meds and are down to go back in for anther visit in two weeks. The pain has gotten better and I can stand to be in bright room or outside for a short time now. However I can only see out of one eye for now. Let's just say being blind is not fun but it did give me a good outlook on how it feels to be blind for a while. I found that there would be really no point to having a Xbox 360. When you buy a car get one with a big backseat. It helps when you leave doors open inside the house. How do you play the last track on the CD player if you can't see it? If you are walking in front of someone who can't see don't just stop without say so or moving out the way. What is the point of a web cam if you can see it. Oh and seeing the New Years Ball drop is not that important when you can't see. Your cell phone and Ipod become your new best friend. (learning how to use both is the key) Oh and something else you notice when you can't see things is how fast kids grow over a short time. Anyway life is not yet back on track but things are getting better with being able now to see out of one eye. Other then that nothing else new I think. The holidays where good for the most part and things went as planned. I am hoping now that I can see a little I can read in my new book and use my web cam a little. Oh we now have Skpye and we have really enjoyed talking with family. Oh I got my bike trainer and loving it. I got to ride it for the 1st time today due to not being able to see to put it all together and it felt great. I feel like I got a great workout. I am open now for any good indoor biking DVDs to watch. Oh well, Maybe more later!
